Geospace Revisited Poster

WELCOME RECEPTION

We are happy to announce that the Welcome Reception will be held at the Courtyard of the Palace of the Grand Master of the Knights of Rhodes, which was a citadel of the Knights Hospitaller that functioned as a palace, headquarters and fortress. The Welcome Reception will begin at 8:00pm on Sunday, 14 September. There will be a bus to and from downtown:
- Buses will leave the Rodos Palace Hotel at 19:30 to downtown Rhodes.
- Buses will leave downtown Rhodes to Rodos Palace Hotel at 22:00.

The way from the bus station to the Grand Master of the Knights of Rhodes is presented with a red line (2-minutes walk) at the image bellow.
The Grand Master of the Knights of Rhodes entrance is at the Ippoton street.

CONFERENCE DINNER

Upon registration in Rhodes, you will be asked to choose your main dish for the Conference Dinner on Thursday (see attached MenuChoice.pdf)

SIDE EVENTS

There will be two side events, which are mainly aimed at the public, but interested conference participants are also welcome to attend:

- On Monday evening, Stamatios Krimigis will give a public talk *IN GREEK* on “The first human journey to the Galaxy: The Voyager Odyssey". The event will take place in the Medieval Inn of the Language of Aragon (aka “Spanish Inn”, see map bellow) in downtown Rhodes, at 7:30pm.

- On Tuesday evening, Yannis Daglis will give a public talk *IN GREEK* on “The music of space”, followed by the presentation *IN ENGLISH* of the winners of the MAARBLE “Sounds of Space” Musical Composition Contest, in the “Rodon Open Air Theatre” (see map bellow) in downtown Rhodes, at 7:30pm.

ACTIVITIES FOR ACCOMPANYING PERSONS

We can recommend two activities for accompanying persons:

1. Day cruise to Symi island (see attached description)
2. Speedboat excursions to nearby islets and/or scuba diving by Marine Ecotourism (see attached pamphlet)
